The stream does not replace the day in the studio — there you shoot yourself, at six setups, with five photographers at most. It is the way to get three of those setups explained live, without the journey.

A series, not a one-off. There is a new stream with a different model roughly every month. The next date below is simply the next way in.

Exclusive setups, live from the studio, and you learn from home. Where the lamps stand, why a shadow falls the way it does, and what changes when one light moves half a metre. For much of the session the camera points at the lights and the screen, which is exactly what no photograph ever shows you. At the end you see the finished image, straight out of camera.

Every setup is announced and explained: lamp positions, modifiers, aperture, and the reasoning behind a mood. Questions go through the chat and get answered on air. It is an education stream — teaching, not adult content.

Why it looks like this

The soft light comes from the same direction as the hard light, so the shadows open up without a second shadow being cast.
